RM of Marquis’s story
The Rural Municipality of Marquis No. 191 was incorporated on December 11, 1911. It lies in the south-central part of Saskatchewan, and its municipal office is in the village of Marquis.
Two villages, Marquis and Tuxford, are surrounded by the RM. Within its boundaries are also the organized hamlet of Parkview and the localities of Keeler, South Lake and Sun Valley. Keeler was once a village of its own, but it was dissolved on December 31, 2020, and is now a special service area.
Today the RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the second Tuesday of every month.
